Spring?

Today is very sunny and warm (in the 50's). Jon and ceili have been spending their days outside as much as possible. Erin and Ceili uncovered some of the flower beds last night and discovered some flowers starting to poke through the soil! We also finished maple syruping and have just shy of two gallons of syrup. Ceili helped clean up by licking the pans!In March we had a neighborhood St. Patrick's Day parade and corned beef dinner. Ceili got to wear her dress for the third year in a row. This year, however, it was more of a long shirt.

We recently traveled to Iowa to visit Great Grandpa Burgers. Ceili enjoyed watching movies with him on the computer. When we returned from Iowa, Ceili and Erin got together with their friends Sophia and Michelle for a day at the fun fair. They got to ride on a merry-go-round.

Ceili has been working on potty training and is doing very well! She has gone about two weeks with fewer than six accidents. She even stays dry at nap time! She wears a diaper at night but it is often dry in the morning and she asks to sit on the potty.

We decided to add some chickens to our garden this year. Jon and Ceili went to pick out the kinds of chickens and Ceili picked out one she wants to name Rosie. The chicks will arrive on April 14th and will be in a brooder for about three weeks to a month before being moved outside to the new coop. In the meantime, Ceili enjoys playing in the coop.

Ready for spring!

Well, we're finally updating after a busy summer and holiday season. Ceili turned 2 in July and we had a great party with some of her friends. She liked to help out in the garden and enjoyed watching the bees. In August the tall ships came to town and Ceili and Jon rode their bike to watch them. In the fall we had the neighbors over for a pumpkin party. We carved pumpkins and ate some fall food. We celebrated "Thanksgivemas" with some friends in early December. We also made it to Bentlyville to see the light display. Truly a great experience to get you in the mood for the holidays. We traveled to Iowa for our yearly pilgrimage to Pei's for sushi and dinner and had an awesome time hanging out with our Iowa Family. We wish we could see them more often! Ceili liked watching the chefs throw food into peoples mouths and make fire on the grill. Our immediate family came to Duluth for Christmas a week early and we all had a great time celebrating around the fire in the back yard and eating lots of delicious treats. We are now preparing for Ceili's first airplane trip. At the end of January we will fly to Cozumel, Mexico to enjoy the sand and surf. Perfect timing to get us through what has been a long and cold winter. We are expecting a 80-100 degree swing in temperatures. We will post more when we get back.
